Abstract | ARCVIEW shapefiles depicting a variety of characteristics of the ground-water system of Fillmore County, Minnesota
Purpose | Geographic information systems (GIS) layers were created to cartographically depict and spatially analyze data used in the production of the Fillmore County Geologic Atlas, Part B. A County Geologic Atlas (CGA) is a systematic study of a county's geologic and ground-water resources. Geologic studies include both near-surface deposits and bedrock. Ground-water studies include flow systems, aquifer capacity, ground-water chemistry, and sand and gravel deposits. Interpretation of sensitivity to pollution is also part of a CGA. The information is organized, analyzed, and displayed using GIS technology.
